Revealing Some Hidden Secrets

I was tagged by Author Katheryn Lane and couldn't wait to answer these questions!

What is the one book you couldn’t live without?

The Dictionary!  I may be an author but there are still a few words that will throw me off my game.

What can you see out of your window at the moment?

At the moment it's pitch black, but on a normal day I can see the woods.  I live on top of mountain and I'm surrounded by 40 acres of woods.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Escargot!  I think I was 21 and was dared to eat at least five at a restaurant and forced myself to eat them.

What fictional character would you most like to marry?

There are two!  Eric Northman and  Jacob Black, hands down the sexiest two men on the planet.

If ever a fictional villain was going to win, who would you want it to be?

Jerry from the original Fright Night!  He should have won!  Loved that movie.

How many types of cheese can you name off the top of your head?

I absolutely love cheese so about 15.  These days though I usually only consume cottage cheese, calories and such.

If you didn’t want to be a writer, what would you want to be?

A famous country singer.  I actually pursued this career for 12 years.

Can you play a musical instrument?

It's been many years, but I was one heck of a flute player.

Do you own a Kindle or any sort of e-reader?

I have a Kindle and an iPad.

If so, how many books do you have on it?

100 or more, I have begun deleting them to make more room.

You just got published. In a glowing review, someone calls you the next (insert name of famous author). Which author has to watch their back now you’re on the scene?

I'm hoping none of them.  I don't write to hurt another author, and I think there are enough incredible readers out there that we can all find our own fan base.

More Dreams to Share..

As some of you know me well, you'll understand that my love of writing has always been wrapped in romance.  The newest book is flowing well and the characters are filling the pages like a dream.  I'm really excited about this new venture and the picture above will give a little hint of where I'm going.  For all my incredible Tears of Crimson fans, I haven't abandoned you!  This book just called to my soul and the need to share it was overwhelming so it's taking the lead for now.

Mysterious Explosion in Alabama

March 6, 2012

It's not often that something happens in my little hometown that makes me concerned enough to blog about it.  After dozens of reports in Rockford last night of walls shaking and an explosion that was heard over a 200 mile radius that I'm personally aware of, I admit it, I'm curious.  Reports flooded in to the Chilton County 911 office yesterday, reportedly over a 100 calls.  This was the main conversation at T-ball practice last night, and I think an explanation is going to have to come forth.

Promoting Your Book!

As most of you know I've been on Twitter for the past two years, promoting my book relentlessly.  While I've made some incredible friends, and enjoy all the social interaction, twitter just wasn't giving my books the push I needed to turn readers into buyers.  The two things that I can say with certainty that worked, are Amazon's KDP Select plan and Kindle Nation Daily.  I could give you a list of things I've tried, but if you're reading this article, I'm going to assume you want what really worked for sales.
